Gene, you did nothing wrong to offer this option. But we all operate at 
different levels of expertise and experience on this list. I'm only suggesting 
that we try to note any drawbacks to the recommendations we make. It's hard to 
get the right tone to express this in email.

Although you might want to convince me otherwise, I did nothing wrong at all by 
letting Iram know that Outlook Express was available if he wanted to use it. 
And I gave him credit for being intelligent and that he knew of it's possible 
security risks and lack of support, and knew how to deal with them.
