The first question I would ask is has the scanner been cleaned? Dirty scanner means you won't get a clear picture which will make it harder for the OCR to do its job. The other thing I'd consider is are your drivers for the scanner up to date? Hope this helps some.

Hi,

I'm using latest jaws 17 on a windows 10 pro and abby fine reader version
12.

I've never been able to scan and read documents. I need help.

I've put the paper in the scanner, clicked scan to word, selected plain
text, I think it's called dtI? I chose 300, scanned it and I just get
jibrish. I mean, it'll read text here and there but I find myself needing to
decipher what has been scanned.

How can I get a crisp and clear document to read?

Thanks.

Respectfully,
