Hi Adrian,

>From what I'm getting from this lady is very inconclusive, so it's really
hard to understand if she has the Word desktop icon set to maximize or not.
But, when we don't run our 3rd party program to do this for us
automatically, our computers retain window size settings until we turn the
computers off & restart, & this is also for programs that don't have the
properties set to run in the maximized state. So, I'm wondering why this
window size memory thing works for some, & not for others. I know, it's
frickin Windows LOL
Take care.
Mike

Hi, Mike. I think you know how to create a shortcut using "properties" for
the desired application. One way is to place focus on the item in the
desktop and press alt-enter. The tab you land on should be "Create
shortcut." If not, press control-tab until it turns up.

Using MS word as an example, once in the "shortcut" tab, press the tab key
to "Run..." and you'll probably hear "Normal size window." Arrow down to
"Maximize," and tab on from there.

I don't find this option in Outlook, so it seems to be
application-dependent. I do find it in MS Word.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows Size Memory Not Being Retained

Hi All,

An acquaintance running Windows 7 pro 64 bit, Jaws 16, & Office 2016 is
having a problem with her computer not remembering Window size settings
during a current session. i.e, if she maximizes document in Word, or
maximizes other windows using the, Windows key + up arrow, or the, Alt,
Enter, + X, keystrokes she says that she has to maximize these same windows
everytime she opens them. Personally I use a 3rd party program, so I never
have this problem, & don't have a clue as to what the answer is to make her
system remember current session window settings. If anyone has an answer
for this, would you please share? All help & input will be greatly
appreciated. Thanks much.
Take care.
Mike
