This is absolutely on the money. I'm forced at the moment to use a laptop with one of those accursed "touchpad" mouse gizmos on it and it's impossible. This is why I'm also using a USB keyboared that plugs into the laptop, giving me a standard keyboard with a normal layout, a slanted design instead of a completely flat one that's monumentally uncomfortable, but I also get my numeric keypad back. There's no way I'd ever use a laptop (except when forced to go portable) if all I had was its own keyboard.
