How do you know that you do not want to install them? Do you really
understand what these unwanted updates actually do?

If you choose Custom install rather than Automatic after you open the
installation dialog, you'll be presented with a list of the updates. Each is
checked by default. I _think_ that you can press SPACEBAR on any you don't
want, TAB to Install, press ENTER, and the unwanted updates will be deleted.
Just hope that some future update doesn't have one of those you've chosen
not to install as a prerequisite. I learned the hard way early on that
Microsoft knows more than I do about what's required for system software
maintenance.

Subject: Re: [jaws-users] Windows XP Home Updates

May I clarify my question once again, since it has not been answered yet.

There are 2 updates in my system Tray for Windows XP. Now, if I do not wish
to install them, I cannot find a way to cancel them out of my System Tray
without installing them.
More simply, I do not wish to install certain updates at times. What are the
exact steps to get rid of them from my System Tray without installing them.
I can find no way on the tab or anywhere else to remove them without
installation. The Cancel button does nothing, so it seems.
Does this make more sense?
Thanks and have a very nice day!
