Dear Billy:
I may have given bad advise, as my system once worked as you described,
but of late, hitting the delete button following highlighting the remaining
messages, only sends them to the deleted messages folder. I can not explain
the change, but having been reminded of the former way it worked, Lois
should be careful not to follow my advice until she learns for sure which
way her system works.
Yours Truly,
Clifford Wilson

Dear Lois,
Just to add to Clifford's post, if you do the same thing, that is to
say, hit the control and shift keys, and press the end key, that process
selects all messages from the point at which you hit that key combination to
the end of the messages. Now, if you know that you want to send them to
never never land without the additional step of repeating the process in the
deleted items folder, then, you can just choose delete right then, and they
will bypass the deleted items folder, and immediately be permanently
deleted.
Whew! Be warned however, that once you do this, they are gone, never to
be seen ever again, so be extremely careful. Clifford's method may be a
more practical solution, in that, it gives you two chances to not be an
idiot. (smile).
Take care...
Billy
