Suite

Hi Andrew, and I chose to answer you on-list, for there are loads of us out
here who could benefit from information such as the usability of an
application like Blackboard. I've now used Blackboard for three semesters at
a local community college, and have found the experience to be rather
painless. One of my classes had one or two graphical links on the page for
each correctly labeled link on the page, and as such browsing that class's
site was a bit less than efficient, but even that one was tolerable.
Sometimes, I've found that the rules put on a test by an instructor force
the PC to pop up a confirmation dialog box whenever you choose an answer on
a test and opt to go on to the next question, but I found that doing the
test backward in that situation would allow me to do it without having to
wait through those dialogs each time. And, finally, sometimes there are
graphics associated with given questions on quizzes and tests. If I ever
missed a question on account of a graphic, I noted the question and
associated graphic, emailed the instructor pointing it out, and had no
problem getting the points awarded or alternate questions asked. Blackboard
does a great job of using attributes accessible by screen readers to make
their sites very easy to navigate, and I've found the experience of classes
via that software to be pleasurable and efficient. If you've particular
questions that I didn't cover here, let me know and I'll answer as best I
can.

Jeremiah

Subject: [jaws-users] Questions about JAWS with Blackboard Academic Suite

Greetings all,

I have a student that is starting College soon and will be using JAWS to
access Blackboard Academic Suite. It is my understanding that JAWS works
with Blackboard, however I have not had the opportunity to use this
application. Any and all feed back would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,Andrew
