well from what I can learn it doesn't give a version number. I thought I had already installed it once before but it keeps coming back so guess not. It just has those 3 boxs to choose to install..sonic, win-video or shield manager and an ok or cancel buttons

Add shield for internet explorer is such a well behaved application that once it's installed you virtually never need to mess around with it again. That's assuming of course you have that program in the first place. Try doing a google search on those particular programs and see what you come up with.
