After installing the updated JAWSVid.dll file mentioned here yesterday, I installed version 6.8 of the ATI Catalyst video drivers and after rehooking JAWS video support and loading JAWS, the problems I had previously experienced are completely gone. For those for whom these drivers are appropriate, it's now safe to install them after installing the updated JAWSVid.dll file.
After you install the new JAWSVid and restart your computer, don't forget to copy the .dll from C:\Windows\System32\ to C:\Program Files\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\7.10\ as well. Otherwise, you'll wind up with the old version of JAWSVid when you run the JAWS Video Interrupt Manager in order to rehook video support after installing the ATI drivers.
