Speaking of activation, did anyone else have a hard time reading that
20-character authorization number, without caps for the letters or number
signs for the numbers, so you couldn't tell which one was which?

Actually I believe I read at one time it was possible to activate JAWS
without an internet connection on the machine being activated. check out
the following link:

The answers are yes and no.
Yes you will need an internet connection for JAWS activation.
No you can't use regular JAWS with XP pro.
Last I heard JAWS pro cost another $300.

I am confused regarding the usage of jfw and windows professional and I
would like some clarification. Also I have a question regarding jaws
activation. You see my dad got a computer with windows pro on it, and I
am under the impression my jaws which is running on my windows home
system will not work with his pro version of windows, so we are looking
into buying either xp home or a computer with xp home on it. Also I am
under the understanding that in order to load jaws on to his system and
activate it it is necessary to have a working internet connection due to
the ilm licensing feature of the newer versions of jaws is that correct?
And what’s the scoop on running jaws for xp home on xp pro systems?
