You must have JAWS Pro if running Windows XP Pro. You don't need it for
Windows XP Home.

I just went and looked at the available information on the FS web site and
the price difference between JAWS Standard and Pro is $200, so I would
assume that for an existing user of JAWS Standard, the cost to purchase a
Pro license would be the same amount.

You can activate JAWS without an Internet connection. Looking at the online
JAWS help, I see that you can activate by fax; what they call a "trusted
third party," which means someone else with an active Internet connection;
and by telephone.

It's not clear to me, but are you saying that your father will be using
JAWS? If so, he should obtain his own copy and license, as sharing a single
copy of JAWS between two individuals on two separate computers isn't legal.
For that, you'd need what's called a multi-user license.

Subject: [jaws-users] XP PRO & JFW

I am confused regarding the usage of jfw and windows professional and I
would like some clarification. Also I have a question regarding jaws
activation. You see my dad got a computer with windows pro on it, and I
am under the impression my jaws which is running on my windows home
system will not work with his pro version of windows, so we are looking
into buying either xp home or a computer with xp home on it. Also I am
under the understanding that in order to load jaws on to his system and
activate it it is necessary to have a working internet connection due to
the ilm licensing feature of the newer versions of jaws is that correct?
And what's the scoop on running jaws for xp home on xp pro systems?
