I agree. Have used Norton since the days of norton Utilities for DOS, and have never regretted it. AVG shows poorly on every review of antivirus software I have ever read.

And I think your "excuse to dump Norton" is overkill. I just installed Norton 2006, which will be supported for at least three years, if not longer, and am extremely happy with it. LiveUpdate works flawlessly for me and I have things configured so that I am never prompted as to what to do with something the program finds. In other words, my experience with Norton has been 180 degrees opposite from yours and right now, I wouldn't think of giving it up in favor of anything else. And if I were to even consider changing anti virus programs, my first criterion after accessibility is that it be _widely_ used and recommended by IT professionals. This would eliminate, for example, AVG, which never shows up in any top ten list of AV applications favored by IT professionals. I regard this fact as extremely important--if the professionals who set up and manage personal computers for a living don't use it, why should I do so? Not because it's free--in my opinion, that's the worst reason in the world to use an antivirus application. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Max Robinson" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Jaws Users" <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, September 21, 2006 10:51 PM Subject: [jaws-users] Fw: [bits] FW: [acb-l] Fwd: Heads up: Norton Antivirus/Norton Internet Security 2007 incompatible with Screen Readers If you need another reason to dump Norton, here it is.
