Hey Jeff,
One more thing to add when Jaws says nothing selected try pasting any way. I 
found out Jaws copies some times.

  Maybe I can help you with this. You would arrow over to the beginning of 
  the link, that is, arrow till you hear http. Stop on the h and hold down 
  the shift key while right arrowing to the end of the link. If you go past 
  the end of the link, just left arrow till you hear the last letter or number 
  in the link. Then let up the shift and press control+c to copy the link. 
  Then open internet explorer, press control+o, then press control+v to paste 
  the link and enter to open the link.

  I followed your instructions. When I did shift and home or shift and end it
  said selected but when I did control C it said nothing selected.
  Therefore I was unable to get to the appropriate website.
