I am using Windows XP, and I am able to use the Alt+Left arrow and right
arrow to move in and out of folders when in the "My Documents" folders. I
tried these commands in both JAWS 7.0 and 7.1.

Hi Victor,

My laptop doesn't let me do that either. It says that key is not available.

I never tried it till now, so I never knew it was missing.

Backspace seems to do it though.

Take care,
Lois

Hi David,

As a matter of fact, and as I stated in my message, it works, or is supposed
to work on all Internet Explorer windows whether it be an internet browser
window, or a local computer browser window. If you go to the view menu,
then to "Go To" submenu, it gives you the back command, and the keyboard
shortcut that is supposed to correspond to that command, which is alt-left
arrow.

As I said, it worked on my other laptop running the same software, Windows
XP and Jaws 7, and it works on my desktop, running Windows XP Pro and Jaws
7, so I'm trying to understand why it doesn't work on my new laptop.

What happens is that it's supposed to land you on the folder or file that
you entered on to go to the following folder.

For example, if you arrow through your my documents window, and enter on My
Music, when you arrow through that folder and decide to go back, you would
key in alt-left arrow, and you would go back to the previous folder, but
land on the My Music folder instead of the top of the list view.

This was good, in that if you had a number of folders starting with the same
letter, you didn't have to arrow through all of them to get to the desired
one and just continue browsing through the folders where you left off.

Like I said, it's a convenience, nothing more, but I'm still wondering why
it isn't working.

Victor
