In my opinion there must be a significant difference between the two programs.
For example CHKDSK runs while the system is up but scan disk needs to have
access to files that are normally being used while the system is running. Note
that it only runs during the boot up process before almost nothing is loaded in
memory. Also going back to my MS DOS days where scan disk was more superior of
the two programs. This is not to say that CHKDSK doesn't have merit, for in
fact it does or did in the past. So far as today is concerned I can't say for
sure. In a nut shell to be more complete I would run scan disk myself, and
actually I did just a little while ago. The things is now I have to find the
log of what it did.

Hi,

Just ran this. And it worked well and fast. However, wondering if it
automatically fixed any errors like scandisk can be defaulted to do?

Guess I'm wondering if there is a difference between scandisk and chkdsk.
