Hi Gene, You might want to tell your friend to go into his options, and in the read tab, make sure the checkbox that says, "Mark message read after" is checked.
tab once more to the edit spin box and tell him to specify a value by using his arrow keys. Up and down accordingly. Mine is set to 0 because I want it to be considered read after I highlight it, but that's my preference.
