Actually, they will still be able to use their computers, just not with version 8, if their operating system doesn't support it. However, eventually those machines will need to be upgraded, if not replaced, so those users will already have the later version of Jaws ready to use. It's no surprise that Freedom Scientific has taken this approach, since Microsoft does the same. It just isn't cost effective to build legacy support into new software, for out-dated technology. I support neither Freedom Scientific, or Microsoft's policies or procedures, it's just the nature of the beast.
