Did my message not go through describing how to do this? I seem to recall describing exactly how to do this in a message I sent a day or so ago.
the message went as follows: Hi Mich, If you use Goldwave, it will take up less resources and you'll be able to use your computer while it's working in the background. The other benefit is that you can do a batch of files instead of just doing one at a time. When in the Goldwave sound properties screen, hit the alt+F to go to the file menu, then press the letter B for Batch. A dialog window will pop up and you'll land in an edit list field. You tab once to get to the add button, and press space bar. Then you shift tab in the dialog box that pops up after, and pick and choose your files. Keep adding files until you are finished and all the files you have chosen appear in the original edit list field. This dialog box where you add the files you want to batch convert, has several tabs to it. The important ones are the conversion tab, and the folders tab. The conversion tab lets you specify the bitrate and file type you want to convert to, and the folders tab let's you place the folders in different files or keep them in their original files. You can also opt to have it overwrite existing files with the same name, so that you don't have to go back and delete them manually. Please note, it will not overwrite OGG files as MP3 files, but simply save it as an MP3 file and add it to the directory. Anyway, once you are done adding the files to the list, and you've checked and made sure your settings are exactly what you want, you tab to the begin button, and hit space bar, and you can then leave it alone and go to sleep, depending on how many files you are converting, or go surf the net or something like that. The important point is that you don't have to sit there and wait until it's done. I should note that there are two other tabs in this dialog box. They are, information and process tabs. Information let's you add information, such as annotations to the file, or edit it's meta-data, and the process tabs let you add sound effects and other formatting to the sound file. All in all, it's a great little program. If you find that the window isn't as accessible as you'd like, try getting the scripts from David's or Debbie's homepage for Jaws 5 and above, and re-install them and re-compile them. It should work, and the batch processing dialog box is completely accessible in terms of Jaws. Have fun. ***This went through on Halloween, according to my list, which is not when I wrote it, as I seem to recall writing it on Monday night. Maybe I'm back in the twilight Zone, or something. Anyway, if you need more instructions, let me know.
