Hi Marilyn, I, personally, don't think you can have too many spyware detectors on your computer.
What I think others were saying, was that it wasn't a good idea to have two anti-virus programs running at the same time on your computer. In other words, don't have Norton's auto-protect and AVG auto-protect on at the same time, and don't run a virus scan on your computer at the same time you're running one with Norton or the other one. I have three different spyware detection programs on my computer. I have Ad-Aware, Spybot and No Ad-Aware. Oops, make that four detection programs, I forgot X-soft Spy. I have to say, since you're asking, tat I have found that No Ad-Aware is the best at detecting threats on your computer. I have run it several times, and even picked up things that were left behind by the other three programs. The scan takes a while, so it's best to leave it running while you're having dinner, but once it's run, it will pick up everything on your computer that it thinks is spyware. It will even pick up Kazaa or any other programs that use cookies on your computer, but the program gives you the option of adding these items to the exceptions list, and it ignores it in the future. All around, a very good program, and it's completely accessible, or at least, 95 percent accessible, and you don't need any scripts to go with it. That's the even better part, and if the bloody scan didn't take forever, than I'd run it more often then just once every couple of weeks, but I guess that's the price we pay for vigilance.
