Since a reinstallation following a hard disk failure Jaws 5 is not reading the document screen in Word 2003 though I have been assured by some one seeing the screen all text is there. Jaws speaks all else, I can read the functions on the menu bar, read tools, options etc. and spell check messages, characters and words are read as they are typed in, but attempting to read the screen the only response is "blank". All my stored Word documents can be called up but the result is the same, jaws will not read anything which it had done quite well previously. The screen refresh, insert escape has no effect.
