Alan Try making the following changes to word/office and see if it helps.
Make the following changes with Microsoft Word as the window with focus. 1. Go to tools, options. 2. On the general tab: Uncheck start up task Payne. Press OK. 3. Go to tools, autocorrect. 4. on the Auto format as you type tab: uncheck automatic bulleted lists. 5. Uncheck automatic numbered lists. Press OK. 6. Go to tools, customise. 7. Check always show full menus. Press OK or close. 8. Make sure the office assistant is not visible by pressing control+insert+F4. 9. Go to the view menu. Select normal and press enter. 10. Make sure the word window is maximised. 11. Close Word. 12. restart Word. No promises, but you never know! Regards.
