I'm not quite sure what you are saying your issue is...

I presume by "standard compiler", you are referring to the MingW compiler
which comes with jBase. You are correct that this isn't the best and I
believe has some bugs.

You don't mention what version of jBASE you are using, but I'm not sure it
matters.

On Windows you should be able to download and install the Microsoft Dotnet
Framework SDK - I believe that jBASE only supports V1.1 out of the box
(though I understand that it can be made to work with V2.0 or above). If
you have installed the MingW compiler, then you need to change some
environment variables and settings to pick up the correct compiler - search
this group for details on how to do this. (Though I would think that you
could simply uninstall Mingw and jBASE followed by re-installing).

AIX will need a different compiler - I believe the "Visual Age C compiler"
is the one to use though I could be wrong - I'm no AIX expert!

Subject: Better Programming Application

I am TIRED of using the standard compiler that comes with jBase. I
have been on a few job interviews and notice other companies are using
more modern compilers for jBase, Pick, etc and was really hoping I
could get in on it. JBase Int'l website says to get the most up to
date .NET SDK, Framework and download C++. I did all this, but C++
does not recogines a compiled program.

I am using an AIX server but would be programming on a Windows XP
box. Any advise would be greatly apprecaited.

Thanks,
Zac
