Dave,
I have always needed a user password to log onto jBase via Telnet. I asked about this years ago and no workaround was ever offered. Regards, Alan From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of David Grenfell Sent: Saturday, November 20, 2010 3:33 PM To: [email protected] Subject: JB 3.X ON XP-PRO Hi All: I have an interesting situation with my system. I have set up and account called "GCS" and the path to it is simply C:\usr\GCS Everything seems to be working ok in Jbase. Here is a scenerio. I log on to my system as administrator with no password. I open my Telnet window and attempt to log on to jbase. I get the normal Account Name: prompt, to which I reply "GCS". It gets strange when I am asked for a password . It apparently wants the password that I would assign to the account when I created it under windows. I can log on if I use this password, but I remember previous installations when I did not need a password here. So, I removed the password under windows, restarted my jbase server, but cannot log on at all either with or without a password. So, straighten me out please.
