Hi Dave,

You might look here (I'm on XP, if you're on Windows 7, it may be different):

Control Panel>System>Advanced>Environment Variables

Please post when you find out. I'm interested, too.

Thanks,
Charlie Noah

This still hasn't satisfied my curiosity:

For example:  My Terminal Emulator is set to emulate VT100 and this shows up when I query by TERM as seen below

jsh CHURCH ~ -->TERM
TERMINAL NAME:  vt100
TERMINAL WIDTH: 80      PRINTER WIDTH:  132
        DEPTH: 24              DEPTH:  64
My question is, "Where is it getting the width and depth information" ?  If I change my emulator , it shows up on the TERM query, but the numbers don't change.

example:

jsh CHURCH ~ -->TERM
TERMINAL NAME:  vt220
TERMINAL WIDTH: 80      PRINTER WIDTH:  132
        DEPTH: 24              DEPTH:  64

Subject: Re: jbase initializations

It's usually a setting in the terminal emulator.

Gentlemen:

Where does the terminal type get set when one first starts up jbase. For example, my remote.cmd does not contain any terminal setting code, so it must be prior to the logon that uses this config file.  I have searched the knowledge base, and googled but can't find the answer.

Mine is set for vt100 which is fine, and I know how to change parameters once inside my basic programs, but am curious as to how it is first initialized.
