This jBase forum is splitting to differentiate the core database from one of the many applications built upon it, T24.
Similarly, many people are interested in discussing the DBMS model as a general platform, rather than just the nuances or syntax of this specific product. jBase is one of many platforms based on the Pick DBMS model, now often referred to as MultiValue, or MV. Many people in this jBase forum came here from the comp.databases.pick Usenet/NNTP forum. Participation in that group has faded for many reasons including spam and adult "bot" postings. That issue doesn't exist here in this jBase forum because we have moderators to pre-filter abusive content. A new forum has been created for those seeking to discuss a more broad scope of technical matters, and for those who may have avoided some of the issues of CDP. All here are welcome to subscribe to the new MVDBMS group, which is also moderated: http://groups.google.com/group/mvdbms/about I've also blogged about the initiative here: remove.pleaseNebula-Rnd.com/blog/tech/mv/2011/12/cdp1.html (Please remove the remove.please part which I add to thwart spam.) While you will still get the best jBase-specific answers here, you may get better information there about products, services, freeware, and other resources which are available for ALL MV platforms, but not jBase-only. So for example, utilities and techniques used for web services, reporting, or mobile devices might be available to you, but there just aren't people in this forum here talking about them. Another forum also gives vendors here an opportunity to respond to inquiries from people who have other platforms and are looking for solutions which might be available here. Respectful solicitation is welcome as long as it's in the context of open inquiries. The policy is the same as it is here. There's nothing wrong with telling people how happy you are with jBase or related offerings if someone asks about a feature which you enjoy. So please register, learn, contribute, and help our larger community of MV/Pick user/developers to prosper. Thanks for your time.
