Well, I wouldn't think of attempting it. It is much better to put it on a 
platform like a Windows 2003 VM, where you know it is going to work without any 
problems.

jBASE 5 runs just fine on Windows 2012, as well as on Windows 8. 

You still need to follow the instructions on the jBASE web site for installing 
the compiler:

Knowledgebase ->  jBC Compilation -> Introduction -> Installing a compiler for 
jBASE 5 on Windows 7/8 or Windows Server 2008 R2/2012
