Why don't you install X?
I'm running Ubuntu 8.04 Server and I use that as a trading platform
for IB, Ameritrade, JST, JBT etc
For Windows environment I have a few M$ sandboxes using VirtualBox
The graphics card is weak on the server but I have enough horsepower
(4 3GhHz Quads with 16 Gig RAM) to make up for it
Go Ubuntu!
