perhaps you guys should think about an amazon ec2 approach: instance type small on linux costs 0.085$ per hour if you run this instance 8 hours a day than it will cost 0.68 $ per day on 20 trading days this setup will cost 13.6$
amazon has preconfigured linux images with a kde desktop and an integrated NX server. with an NX client you can access it like a remote desktop. you have root rights on these machine images, so you can do everything you want I used this setup for my first JBTWO tests and it worked pretty fine and straight forward. you can store your files on amazon elestic block storage which scosts 0.10 $ per GB and month. Here I have stored my JBT and TWS files. after booting the amazon machine image (AMI) I have my JBT/TWS setup running after 2 minutes. my experiences with the amazon cloud are very good.
