If it's a simulated account, TWS will have huge watermarks "Simulated
Account" on all screens. If it's a real ccount, you should be able to see
your actual balance when you go to an "Account" window in TWS. In regards to
connecting JBT and TWS, make sure that the "socket port" in TWS
(Configure|API|All API) is the same as the one in JBT
(Configure|Preferences|TWS Connection).

Yes, the user guide needs an update. In regards to discussing user
strategies, I'd suggest looking at some other forums. This discussion group
is mainly to discuss technical aspects of JBT, and to help folks like you
get started and involved.

I pay $10/month (free if there are commissions) for a US Equities/Futures
market data. That's more than enough for me. Other people may be subscribing
to other feeds. In regards to being able to auto trade a particular
instrument with JBT, the rule is simple: if you can see market depth for a
particular security in TWS, then it can be auto-traded with JBT.
