Not knowing anything about XML-RPC, my only concern is that anything that
has any kind of "weight" should be done in a separate thread, so as not to
accidentally start blocking execution of the much more critical core-JBT
functions.  I would hate, for instance, if a buggy web-server app starts
poll-flooding JBT and then causes all kinds of mayhem.
