Continuing problems with Forward test mode: it still attempts t live trade
CL
Tuesday night I forward tested a SampleES version, a PredatorCL version and
a SampleLE version. Wednesday noon it was atempting to buy CL contracts but
could not as not enough money in the account.

In order to collect data and keep going, I have now created BlankES,
BlankCL and BlankLE without any goLong(), goFlat() or goShort() commands. I
think the LE contract worked for me in the past, but TWS says it does not
recognize the instrument. I might try to use the base version that
specifies the expiry.

Could one of you guys check my flow to see where I am making the mistake?
or could it possibly be a bug in JbookTrader? I can provide my files if
needed.

The way I do it is:
Start TWS, I have a cash account with $4206. I enter my login, password,
then asks for security card codes, enter those, and TWS starts.
I starts with 4 tabs: Untitled, Portfolio, Futures Scanner: most Active,
Pending (All).

I then Go to eclipse and select JBookTrader-9.01-AV and press the green
play button, this compiles and start JbookTrader, which pops up with a
selection of ~ 22 strategies I right click on the one I want and select
'Forward Test'
A window pops up from TWS saying: accept incoming connection attempt from
xxxxxx? I say yes, and TWS then creates an empty tab on TWS called API. I
think Jbooktrader starts reading data at that point.

I may or may not have that symbol already displayed in my Untitled tab, but
for completedness (because I dont know if I need to) I always add the
contract onto the API tab manually by typing for example ES, and specifying
it as a future and selecting the expiration. I do the same with CL and
perhaps ZN or LE.

I then let it run overnight (dont wake up early enough to start it before
market starts) go to work, come back at noon, check on it, and on two
occasions the CL contract had attempted to trade live. (it cant, because it
needs $4250 and TWS refuses the order, it gets stuck sending continuous
buys commands)

Is that the procedure you guys use to forward test?
Am I supposed to enter anything on the API tab or leave it blank?

In the mean time I've been collecting data and trying to back test some
strategy codes.
Thanks for any replies, AV.
