there was a long-long-long thread about this a while back.
you are 100% correct of course.
there is a lot of confusion about this on this mailing list, mainly because
Minerva adopts something called a PreparedStatement-cache.
so, prepared statements cached or not, could we please stop this. This is
taken care of by the driver that compiles a temporary sp onto the database.
just as Gina explains.
I don't believe there are any drivers out there anymore that requires
minerva to cache the statements.
but I think I saw a post earlier, prepared statements or regular statements,
we are talking about "buckets" when we need to melt an iceberg.
the huge performance problems doesn't lie in the CMP logic not using
prepared statements.
