I have asked for the removal of this for the simple reason that the added complexity made the xml files unbearable. Still as is I feel that buildmagic build.xml files are absolute black boxes.
You and Jason have a problem with percieved complexity and barrier to entry, you feel stuff is semi-trivial so it should be trivial for everyone. Seen from the outside it's an inextricable mess. Don't add this back the local properties stuff, you are the only one I know of that uses it, find another way to set the variables you need And let's not kick a 23 posts thread on "I want my local properties with this flavor" thing, just find another way that doesn't impact everyone. I don't know have the test read a .properties file that is added and bla bla bla but not from the build.xml thing.
