Hello,
Maybe I am not in-synch with you, but I don't think we should go in a "BEA
vs. JBoss" "war". I don't think that JBoss' goal is to provide a Weblogic
Bis piece of code. Otherwise, it means that the only advantage of JBoss
compared to Weblogic is ... the cost of acquisition! Nah... not only! And
why do you think that Oracle and Microsoft are interested in the JBoss
effort, huh? HP app server is free... but not used. The .Net framework is
free (well, once you've bought the OS) and (will shortly be) widely deployed
on 95% of existing computers. So, why some are people using JBoss instead of
HP appserver, .Net, ...? Cost of acquisition as the *only* advantage? nah...
Furthermore, in promoting a product/service/whatever, I always consider more
interesting to promote *our* product instead of *killing* others' products.
It is only when you don't have much advantage that you try to diminish
others to your own (low) level.
I am lost somewhere on the moon?
Regards,
Sacha
