I agree, we can handle this now. (note when I wrote what I wrote and what point we were at). I'll add this probably for M3 as we have plenty to do for M2 and we'll want to do this before IMAP.
Note that we're doing this incrementally and I'm not a strong believer in "design" rather I favor design-in-time and release-often at leas at this stage. Do you have an interest in helping out with some of this? Especially the GUI stuff.
