LOL, and MySQL is a production database? What are you smoking, and why aren't
you sharing. I would rather trust my data to a coked out leper than to MySQL.
One little example, is that if you'll examine the files, you'll notice that I
dropped a UNIQUE index on a column in one of the tables. You guys insert NULL
twice into a UNIQUE column, a hat trick that won't work on any database with
actual "relational integrity", or even real "constraints".

However, mudslinging aside....... HSQL may not be a production database, but it
is the default database, and it's easy to set up. In fact, it comes
pre-installed with JBOSS. This means that anybody could easily install your
portal software, and verify that it works and does what they need it to do
before worrying about installing and configuing a database. In fact, it could
be included by default in the "all" configuration, and designed to use the
DefaultDS. A simple install of JBoss would give you a working portal, sounds
good, doesn't it?

Anyway, Please make it a little more of a priority for this to work on non
MySQL databases. For my part, if I get time I'll investigate HSQL, and do that
for you. For me, it needs to support HSQL, Oracle, and Postgres if I am to use
it. "one is for work, and the other for fun"
