Its true about the comparision, but other than snapshot binaries, there should be no component that is declared to be compatible with a snapshot release in the public repository as this makes no sense. Use of snapshots is a developer to developer exchange that requires a local override. We need to crack down on the use of snapshot. I have updated the version wiki page to indicate there should be no public releases declared to be compatible with another snapshot release.
