Percolator 1.0 beta now released
The new Percolator release has built in support for Jboss 2.0 and
Weblogic 5.1 and contains a new HOWTO to make it easier to get started.
Percolator is a toolbox when developing EJB based data layers. Some of its
components may be used for other activities, but the main target of
Percolator is to be used in an architecture where not only the presentation
layer is separate from the business layer (i.e. 3 tier solutions), but where
the presentation layer, the application layer and the data layer are clearly
separated. It contains a tool for generating a predefined framework for an
entity, an abstract framework and an EJB Query Service (EQS).
The generation tool and and the EJB Query Service may be used independent of
each other.
Percolator is released under the GNU LGPL license. It means that you may use
Percolator in both other open source projects and in commercial projects.
Any changes made in Percolator has to shared.
Some changes since last release:
* Added support for jboss.
* Added new HOWTO.
* Added new jars to lib to make the Percolator release self sufficient.
* Made the makefile system for Percolator rely on JMaker.
* Removed usage of XML4J.
* Removed usage of JGL.
And a lot more.
Expect support for Jonas and SUN reference implementation soon. Automatic
