I am just starting out with JBoss 2.0 and feel like I am missing the big
picture of using the product. I would like to use the product to learn
about EJB 1.1. I would like to to test against my oracle and ms sql server
db's.
The docs on the site seem oddly out of date:
* they refer to config files that do not get installed by the binary
installation (system.properties?!?!)
* screen shots of the ejx program that do not match the interface from the
latest binary.
I would like to use the latest sun odbc-jdbc to test my databases but there
is no docs on this configuration that I can see.
The docs refer to some mysterious hot deployment of ejb's via manual or
componant methods, but leaves any detail concerning this to your
imagination.
What exactly is the process of creating the 3 xml files (ejb-jar.xml,
jboss.xml, jaws.xml) that JBoss (what order, what jar directories)?
An install to deployment to client test type of user guide would be real
nice even if only demonstrating a simple entity/session bean type of app.
Hell, I'd be willing to write one if I could peice together the actual steps
from the current docs (I can't).
Anyway, sorry about the rant, but this looks like a cool product, if I could
just find a starting point.
If anyone can point me to some meaningful documention on this product I'd
appreciate it. I already have gone over ALL docs associated with the binary
install, as well as the sun ejb 1.1 spec.
Thanks in advance for any direction,
Bill Pfeiffer
