All,
It seems to me, after much research through the jboss archives, that no one
has been able to make _any_ db work the way is is meant to through CMP. Why
is this? Why is one of the worlds most popular databases so impossible to
impliment with jboss. I've read multiple threads on the subject and it seems
to me that it simply does not work the way that is should. And one other
thing. Why is every databse in the defaultjaws except for MS Sql server? I
hate MS just as much as the next freeware junkie, but lets's face it, a
shitload of companies use MS sql server. Mine included. So when I have to
build a prototype for my company based on sql server, and I choose jboss as
my ejb server, I should _easily_ be able to impliment this extremely popular
DB. Why is that not the case?

Anyhow, the reason I initiated this thread is to inquire about a DB that is
somewhat easy to use(has a GUI interface), and will marry to jboss like it
was built for the job? Any suggestions? I'm getting a little tired of
attempting to debug EJB's. This is all I have been doing lately. Before I
used to build apps, and sure I had to actually create a data layer and it
wasn't all perfomed automatically for me, but now it takes me twice or three
as long to build the same application because I have all the complications
that go along with ejb to deal with as well. My apps would always work, and
if they didn't I could easily track down the problem in a matter of minutes.
Now it will take hours and sometimes days to figure out what the hell is
wrong. Is anyone with me on this. This problem is only compounded when the
issue seems to be with code that was not meant to do what we are doing?

Back to the DB. Anyone have a DB that works _seemlessly_ with jboss? I'm
eager to hear feedback from all of you.

Listening,

-John
