In case you still haven't had an answer, I have a feeling that there's a
problem with the JDK version supported by VisualAge 3 (the Java 2 "early
adopter" version). Check on which version it is: if it's 1.2.1, you are
out of luck. If it's 1.2.2, you can run the client side under VAJ (so
long as you configure your bean container in jBoss to use JRMP 1.2.2
invocation.
