Hi Jorg, Sorry, I should have read the subject line closer... but it was late last night when I responded. I haven't done any BMP but I have lots of CMP with another app server and you define the finders in the XML of the app server. With some reading I'm sure you'll find the answer if jboss requires finders to be defined in the xml or not for BMP. I'm just getting my jboss server up and running for a new project here so I'll probably run into this situation next week sometime. -Alexandre On Mon, 4 Sep 2000 09:32:10 +0200 =?iso-8859-1?Q?J=F6rg_Schorr?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Alexandre, I am using bean managed entity beans and indeed the container should call the ejbXXX methods, but it is not doing it. >From the end of the message it looks like there is something to put in some xml configuration file in order to have the container call the ejbXXX methods? thanks, jorg -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Alexandre POLOZOFF Sent: Monday, September 04, 2000 3:00 AM To: jBoss Subject: RE:[[jBoss-User] ejbXXX method on BMP bean problem - HELP] Jorg, Are you using bean managed persistence or container managed persistence for the entity bean? My thinking would be if you had bean managed persistence then the container would have to call your ejbFindXXX method but in container managed persistence there should be no reason to as the finder is defined in the XML. -Alexandre On Sun, 3 Sep 2000 19:43:16 +0200 =?iso-8859-1?Q?J=F6rg_Schorr?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Hi, I am using jboss2 on NT with jdk 1.3. My client application has no problems to create and make remote calls on session beans, this session bean can call remote methods on an entity bean (which does not help), but when invoking findByPrimaryKey, the ejbFindByPrimaryKey method is not invoked. It looks like no ejbXXX method is invoked on the bean implementation by the container. Any suggestions? The two beans are in the same jar file and in the same package. In the ejb-jar.xml and the jboss.xml I added the ejb-ref information. Any help will be greatly appreciated, jorg schorr -- -------------------------------------------------------------- To subscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Problems?: [EMAIL PROTECTED] --- Alexandre POLOZOFF Project: Diamond Technology Partners Project Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tel +1 312-475-8751 Mobile +1 312-371-3015 --- Sent via the OfficeServant.com web-mail server Come to the free anytime, anywhere web-based office applications server Received: from cgi.clearink.com [205.227.191.14] by officeservant.com (SMTPD32-5.01) id AC6C7FF600FC; Sun, 03 Sep 2000 12:37:48 CST Received: from portalys.ch by cgi.clearink.com with SMTP; Sun, 3 Sep 2000 10:42:36 -0700 Reply-To: jBoss <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> From: =?iso-8859-1?Q?J=F6rg_Schorr?= <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [jBoss-User] ejbXXX method on BMP bean problem - HELP Date: Sun, 3 Sep 2000 19:43:16 +0200 Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset= iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit X-Priority: 3 (Normal) X-MSMail-Priority: Normal X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook IMO, Build 9.0.2416 (9.0.2910.0) Importance: Normal X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V5.50.4133.2400 Sender: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Precedence: Bulk List-Software: LetterRip Pro 3.0.7 by Fog City Software, Inc.
