Sorry to follow up my own reply but I wanted to add that we have no
trouble with placing text, but we are experiencing this exact exception
when we place random bytes that have been converted to a simple base64
character encoding into the database. We resolved that it was not a
length issue because 1 megabyte of encoded null bytes (0x00) works just
fine. This is one of the issues on our short list to find solutions or
workarounds for.
