Thank you very much for the link to this article, I found it extremely
informative.  I have been confused for some time about threads vs. processes
under linux, and the interaction of linux's threading model with java, and
this article cleared up a lot for me.  I didn't understand all of it (I've
never studied CS; I'm an entirely self-taught (translation: pretty ignorant
of a lot of things) programmer), but I understand a lot more now then I did
two hours ago.  :-)

I look forward to seeing the jBoss benchmarking results posted on the list,
and the likely discussion that will ensue afterwards.

The biggest impression I got from that article was that Linux is a pretty
crappy OS if you want to run enterprise Java apps (regardless of whether
we're talking about EJBs or just servlets or chat room apps like the app
they used as a benchmark).
