Yes.

If we use the default configuration that comes with the distribution, only
way you can use is by creating the EAR files and deploying into deploy
directory.

But if you change the configuration not to use EmbeddedTomcatService, but
run Tomcat as standalone support, then the context is taken from server.xml.
