Try the same operation twice in a row to see how it works when all the beans
are cached as well.
One other point, consider how much information somebody can understand on
one page, 200 things sounds
like a lot.

Subject: [jBoss-User] Simple question...
Hiya!
We have a working BMP/EJB model for content entry into our oracle database,
and I would just like to check that it is OK to have a JavaBean query the
database directly via JDBC to select all rows? I ask this, as the page
which lists all current content is a bit slow (and we only have 200 bits of
content in at the moment), so it would be quicker to perform a SELECT
statement on the dB...
Am I best doing this in the JavaBean layer, or the EJB layer (or does it not
really make a difference?)
Just thought I would consult the wise people of this list before I did
something stupid and got myself shouted at ;-)
Thanks for any response,
Tim.
