Title: RE: [jBoss-User] jboss, tomcat and cocoon HotSpot VM bug

This is the Sun manifestation of a race condition in the linux pthreads library; see Java bug 4343002 ( http://developer.java.sun.com/developer/bugParade/bugs/4343002.html )

This bug is usually intermittent, although on one machine it happened for me every time I stopped jboss, and varies from machine to machine, depending on minor revisions of various libraries.

Try IBM's JDK (it's also faster, although I seem to remember it having a few other problems, can't remember what), or upgrade your libpthread.so - 0.8 works for me.

Subject:        [jBoss-User] jboss, tomcat and cocoon HotSpot VM bug

Hello, I have recently setup cocoon, jboss and tomcate on WIN NT, (Tomcat
embedded in JBoss, Cocoon deployed as war file) it's all working, my problem
    occurs when using Linux -spec

    Red Hat 7.0
    suns SDK1.3.0beta-b07
    JBoss-2.0FINAL
    Tomcat 3.2
    Cocoon 1.8

I have got Cocoon working in Tomcat (standalone) no problem.
When I deploy the cocoon war into embedded Tomcat it seems to deploy without
a problem but when I navigate to the samples I get the following error

HotSpot Virtual Machine error, Unexpected signal 11
    please report this error at
    http://java.sun.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi
    Error Id: 4F533F4C494E55580E4350500589
    problematic thread: prio=1 tid=0x48dcc610 nid=0x641a runnable

I tried blackdowns java distribution and got the same error.

I have not reported the bug yet.

If anyone have jboss cocoon and tomcat working in linux can you please tell
me the specification of your setup.

    Thanks in advance.
