Hello,

I am using JBoss-2.0-FINAL integrated with Tomcat (just downloaded and
installed a binary package from the website, used default config)

While trying to get Sun's PetStore 1.1.1 to run on this, I noticed that
deployment is incredibly slow.

First, my ear file gets copied from deploy directory into tmp/deploy at a
rate of about 1 Kb/s !!! This is on a dual PIII 2x1GHz with lots of
RAM. So this must be a software issue.

Then, it does the same for all the jar files inside the ear. Painfully
slowly copying them into the tmp/deploy.

I am new to jboss and perhaps, this is a well known issue fixed in the CVS
version. But at this moment BUGZILLA does not work on the jboss website
and my searches through the mailing lists did not give me anything
defininte.

Another, unrelated issue is how to deploy an entire application
(e.g. PetStore) without using an EAR? Can I somehow place the jars and war
with META-INF in deploy dir? It did not work when I tried it, JBoss does
not see the application.xml file and does not treat all jars and wars as
components of one application. Any idea?
