Hmm, those bean entries don't get seen if they are in jboss-service.xml and putting them in the bootstrap means adding lots of new stuff to the classpath there. That leaves the option of putting them in deploy, which probably means moving things that depend on the TransactionManager too i.e. the invokers. That goes rather beyond the scope I was originally envisaging, but it may be worth considering.
