Yes, it is supposed to work. Page parameters can be used on posts. It should work as listed, my only hesitation is regarding the issue of a file upload. I have forms with page parameters that are sent back and forth in form POSTs.
Try it without the form upload, just a button which calls a blank method that returns null.
